Historical Foundations
Ray Solomonoff (1926–2009) founded algorithmic probability—the theory that underlies Solomonoff induction and, ultimately, AIXI. His universal prior M(x) formalizes Occam’s razor: simpler hypotheses receive higher prior probability.
